William Bradford Hall (born March 21, 1958) is an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker. He is known for his work on the popular TV show Saturday Night Live (SNL). On SNL, he was a cast member from 1982 to 1984. He also hosted the news segment, which was called Saturday Night News at the time.
Besides acting, Brad Hall is also a talented writer and director. He created TV shows like The Single Guy and Watching Ellie. He also worked as a producer, writer, and director for the award-winning show Brooklyn Bridge. For his work on Brooklyn Bridge, he was even nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award.
Brad Hall has appeared in several movies. These include the 1986 film Troll and Limit Up from 1989. In 2012, he directed a short film called Picture Paris, which was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. You might have also seen him in guest roles on TV series like Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Brad Hall's Early Life and Family
Brad Hall grew up in Santa Barbara, California. When he was a kid, he loved to surf. He once said he learned to surf as soon as he could walk!
He is married to the famous actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus. They met when they were both students at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. They were part of a comedy group that Brad Hall started called The Practical Theater.
Brad and Julia both worked on Saturday Night Live from 1982 to 1984. They also appeared together in the movie Troll in 1986. Later, they guest-starred in two episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm together. They have two sons: Henry, born in 1992, and Charles, born in 1997.
Brad Hall also helps out with a group called SurfAid International. This organization works to improve the health and well-being of people in remote areas, especially those who live near surf breaks.
