Brad Peyton is a Canadian filmmaker. He was born on May 27, 1978. He is well-known for directing exciting movies starring Dwayne Johnson. These include Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012), San Andreas (2015), and Rampage (2018). He also co-created the Netflix series Daybreak (2019).

About Brad Peyton
Early Life and Education
Brad Peyton grew up in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. He later studied filmmaking at the Canadian Film Centre. This is a special school for people who want to work in movies and TV.
Starting His Career
Peyton first became known for a short film he made in 2002. It was a funny and spooky movie called Evelyn: The Cutest Evil Dead Girl. His classmates loved it when he showed it to them. A filmmaker named Jeremy Podeswa suggested he show it to people in the film industry. This helped his film get noticed by important people. Evelyn was even shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2002.
After that, Peyton created a TV show using claymation. Claymation is a type of animation where characters are made from clay. The show was called What It's Like Being Alone. A Canadian TV channel, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, aired it in 2006. It is said that famous American actor Tom Hanks was one of Brad Peyton's mentors.
Directing Big Movies
Peyton directed the movie Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore in 2010. In 2012, he directed Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. This movie was a sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth. It starred Dwayne Johnson and made a lot of money, over $325 million.
In 2015, Peyton worked with Dwayne Johnson again on the disaster movie San Andreas. He also directed a horror film called Incarnate that same year.
Their third movie together was Rampage in 2018. This film was based on a video game. In 2016, it was announced that Peyton would direct a movie called Malignant Man. This film was produced by James Wan.
In 2017, news came out that Peyton would direct, write, and produce a disaster film called Black Hole. He was also reported to be directing a movie based on the video game series Just Cause. Actor Jason Momoa was set to star in it.
Television Work
In 2018, it was announced that Brad Peyton was involved in a new Netflix series. He was an executive producer, writer, director, and co-creator of Daybreak. This show is a comedy set after the end of the world. It first aired on October 24, 2019.
