Brady Grey's Early Football Journey
Brady started his football career with the Burnie Dockers Football Club. This team plays in the Tasmanian State League (TSL). In 2013, he was chosen by the Fremantle Football Club. This happened during the 2013 AFL draft, where he was the 58th player picked.
Playing for Peel Thunder
After being drafted, Brady played for Peel Thunder. This team is Fremantle's reserve team in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He played for them during the 2014 season. Unfortunately, he had a back injury in July that year. Brady continued to play for Peel Thunder in 2015.
AFL Debut and Time with Fremantle
Brady made his first AFL game for Fremantle in the last round of the 2015 AFL season. Fremantle sent a team with many new players to play against Port Adelaide. Brady was one of four players who played their first AFL game that day.
Moving On and Returning
After the 2016 season, Fremantle decided not to keep Brady on their team. However, they picked him again in the 2017 rookie draft. He played 14 games for Fremantle in 2017. He played four more games in 2018 before leaving the team again at the end of that season.
Life After Playing Professionally
In 2019, Brady joined the West Coast Eagles' reserve team in the WAFL. In 2020, the team stopped playing because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Brady then moved to play for the Perth Football Club.
Coaching and Development Roles
In February 2022, Brady joined the Hawthorn Football Club. He became their Indigenous Player Development Manager. He also helped coach the club's first women's AFLW team. Later that year, he returned to the Fremantle Football Club in Perth. There, he became a midfield and development coach. He also joined their WAFL team, Peel Thunder, in 2023.
WAFL Premiership Success
Brady was one of the best players for Peel Thunder in 2024. They won the WAFL Grand Final against the East Perth Royals. This was a big achievement for him and the team.
Current Role at Collingwood
In 2025, Brady Grey joined the Collingwood team. He is now their Indigenous Player Development Manager. This role also includes playing for the club's VFL team.
