Braidon Burns, born on July 8, 1996, is an Australian professional rugby league player. He plays as a centre or winger for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL).
About Braidon Burns
Braidon was born in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. He has Indigenous Australian heritage. His uncle, Rod Silva, was also a famous rugby league player who won a championship with Canterbury.
Braidon played rugby union in high school at St Joseph’s College. He started playing junior rugby league for the Coonamble Bears. Later, he was signed by the Penrith Panthers club.

Starting His Career
In 2015 and 2016, Braidon played for the Penrith Panthers' team for young players, called the NYC team. In August 2016, he signed a two-year contract to join the South Sydney Rabbitohs starting in 2017.

2017 Season Debut
Braidon made his first ever NRL game for South Sydney in Round 2 of the 2017 NRL season. This game was against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. In Round 6, he had a tough game against Penrith, struggling with some high kicks. South Sydney still won that match 21–20. Braidon played the next week but then was out of the team for eight weeks. He returned to the starting lineup for South Sydney's Round 15 game against the Gold Coast.
2018 Season
Braidon's first game of the 2018 NRL season was in Round 4 against Canterbury. He played five games for South Sydney in 2018. Most of the season, he played in a lower league for North Sydney. He did not play in South Sydney's final games that year.
2019 Season
In the 2019 NRL season, Braidon played nine games for South Sydney. The team finished third in the regular season. However, Braidon did not play in South Sydney's final games.
2020 Season Injury
In Round 8 of the 2020 NRL season, Braidon had to leave the field during South Sydney's win over Canterbury-Bankstown. It was later found that he had a dislocated knee. This injury meant he could not play for the rest of the season.
2021 Season Return
Braidon returned to play for South Sydney in Round 9 of the 2021 NRL season. In that game, his team lost 50–0 to Melbourne. In Round 22, Braidon scored two tries for South Sydney. They won that game 36–6 against the Gold Coast. On October 5, Braidon signed a two-year contract to join Canterbury starting in 2022.

2022 Season Debut
In Round 1 of the 2022 NRL season, Braidon played his first game for Canterbury. His new team won 6–4 against North Queensland. In Round 6, Braidon had to leave the field during Canterbury's loss to South Sydney. He was out for about a month with a hamstring injury. Braidon played 14 games for Canterbury in 2022 and scored four tries. Canterbury finished 12th that season and did not make the finals.
2023 Season
After Canterbury's win over St. George Illawarra in Round 9 of the 2023 NRL season, it was announced that Braidon would be out for at least six weeks. He had a medial ligament injury. Braidon played eight games for Canterbury in the 2023 NRL season. The club finished 15th on the ladder.
Playing for North Queensland Cowboys
2024 Season and Beyond
On May 3, 2024, Braidon joined the North Queensland Cowboys for the rest of the season. In Round 11 of the 2024 NRL season, he played his first game for North Queensland. He scored two tries in their 28–22 win against his former team, South Sydney.
