Braine-le-Château is a town in Wallonia, a region in Belgium. It is located in the Walloon Brabant province.
On January 1, 2006, Braine-le-Château had a total population of 9,446 people. The town covers an area of 22.70 square kilometers. This means there were about 416 people living in each square kilometer.
The town is made up of two main parts, or districts. These are Braine-le-Château itself and Wauthier-Braine. These two areas used to be separate towns until 1977.
Braine-le-Château is a very old village. It has many buildings that date back to the Middle Ages.
