Branch is a small, quiet place located in the southwestern part of Camden County, Missouri, in the United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that doesn't have its own official local government, like a city or town would. Instead, it's managed by the larger county it's in.
Branch is easy to find, located right on Route 73. It's about one mile south of U.S. Route 54. If you travel a little northeast, you'll find Macks Creek about four miles away. To the south, also on Route 73, is Tunas, which is about four miles away in Dallas County.
History of Branch
Branch has been around for a while. A post office was first opened here in 1899, which helped people send and receive mail. This post office served the community for many years, staying open until 1968. It's not exactly clear how Branch got its name, as its origin is uncertain.
