History of Brandermill
The idea for Brandermill started a long time ago. In 1974, Chesterfield County gave its approval for this new planned community. Construction then began in 1975.
Just a few years later, in 1977, the people who developed Brandermill (called "The Brandermill Group" back then, now East West Partners) received a big award. Brandermill was named "The Best Planned Community in America." This honor came from two important groups: Better Homes and Gardens magazine and the National Association of Home Builders.
Brandermill was the very first planned community built in Chesterfield County. When it was created, it included many important things for its residents. It had its own golf course, a church, and public schools for children.
