Brandon Allan Hardesty (born April 13, 1987) is an American comedian and actor. He makes funny videos, including amazing re-creations of movie scenes. He plays all the characters himself! A writer named Julian Dibbell from Village Voice called his videos "web culture at its finest."

About Brandon Hardesty

Brandon Hardesty was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the youngest child in his family. His mom is Susan, and his dad, Brent Hardesty, is a talented pianist. Brandon was taught at home until he started middle school.

When he attended Baltimore Lutheran School, a teacher encouraged him to try acting. He joined the school's theater plays. Before he became a full-time actor, he worked as a cashier at a local grocery store.

Brandon's Career

YouTube Videos

On YouTube, Brandon Hardesty uses the name "ArtieTSMITW." This is a short way of saying "Artie: The Strongest Man in the World." Artie was a character from The Adventures of Pete and Pete, one of Brandon's favorite shows when he was a kid.

Movie Scene Re-enactments

His most popular videos are his Re-enactment videos. In these, he picks a famous movie scene and acts it out. The amazing part is that he plays all the characters himself! One of his most well-known performances is when he acts as the drill instructor from Full Metal Jacket. This role was originally played by R. Lee Ermey.

Other Popular Series

Another popular series he created is called Strange Faces and Noises I Can Make. In these videos, he shows off all the funny faces and sounds he can make. He even made a funny video called "1 guy 1 lunchable" as a parody of a famous internet video.

Featured Videos

So far, seven of Brandon's videos have been shown on the front page of YouTube. These include his re-enactments of scenes from The Princess Bride and Uncle Buck. Also featured were a video called "Three Impressions" and "Strange Faces and Noises I Can Make III," which has over 7.2 million views! Other featured videos were "The 30-Second Video," "Request a Reenactment for YouTube Live," and "Movies on YouTube? Huzzah!"

TV Commercials and Shows

In April 2007, the car insurance company Geico used his "Strange Faces and Noises I Can Make III" video in one of their TV commercials. The video played on a computer screen, and then a voice said, "There may be better ways to spend 15 minutes online." His funny faces video was also parodied on the MTV sketch show Human Giant. In that show, Aziz Ansari played a character who made similar funny faces.

YouTube Live Event

In November 2008, Brandon took part in YouTube's very first live show, YouTube Live. He asked his fans to suggest a movie scene for him to re-enact. He promised that the most requested scene would be shown live. The winning scene was from The Dark Knight. It got over 150,000 views on YouTube in its first week! Brandon was also briefly interviewed by fellow YouTuber, William Sledd.

No Small Parts and The Back Focus

In May 2014, Brandon started a second YouTube channel called No Small Parts. This channel was a documentary series about "character actors." These are actors who play important but often smaller roles in movies and TV shows. By June 2018, this channel had over 1.8 million video views. Some of the actors he featured included Warwick Davis, Harry Dean Stanton, and Richard Kiel.

In July 2018, Brandon sold the "No Small Parts" brand to IMDb. He then changed his channel's name to "The Back Focus." This new channel focuses on finding and talking about forgotten or underrated parts of entertainment.

UndoTube Channel

As of June 18, 2018, Brandon made all his older videos on his "ArtieTSMITW" YouTube channel private. He also changed its name to "UndoTube." However, he later made those videos public again.

Acting Career

In September 2007, a producer for the movie Bart Got a Room saw Brandon's YouTube videos. They emailed him because they were interested in him for a role. Brandon auditioned and got the part! He spent three weeks in Florida filming the movie.

After that film, Brandon kept auditioning for movies and TV shows. He eventually got a main role in American Pie Presents: The Book of Love. He also had a supporting role in the movie Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star. Both of these movies were filmed in 2009.

From 2009 to 2012, Brandon was chosen for a main role in a CBS TV show pilot called Living On A Prayer. A pilot is a test episode to see if a network wants to make a full series. Brandon even posted a celebration dance video on YouTube! However, the show was not picked up by the network. He also played a main role in a short film called "Ham Sandwich."

In 2013, Brandon was cast in roles for the film Seven Minutes. He also appeared in The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power. This was the fourth movie in The Mummy film series.
