Brian Augustine Joyce (born September 5, 1962 – died September 27, 2018) was an American politician. He was a State Senator in Massachusetts for the Democratic Party. He served for nine terms, which is a long time! He represented a large area called the Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth district. This district included many towns like Milton, Canton, and Randolph.

Brian Joyce's Early Life and Education
Brian Joyce was born in Winchester, Massachusetts. He finished high school in Milton in 1980. He then went to Boston College and earned his degree in 1984. Later, he studied law at Suffolk University Law School. He graduated with great honors in 1990. After becoming a lawyer, he worked in Milton, Massachusetts.
His Time as a State Senator
Brian Joyce was a State Senator for many years. He worked hard to help people in Massachusetts. He was known for supporting disabled children and older citizens. He helped get a lot of money for public schools in his area. He also worked to clean up the Neponset River and protect the Blue Hills reservations.
Protecting Equal Rights
In 2004, Massachusetts was the first U.S. state to allow same-sex marriage. Brian Joyce helped protect these rights.
