Brian Crosby, born on June 12, 1973, is an Irish musician. He is a composer, producer, and plays many instruments. He mostly creates music for movies and TV shows.

Brian Crosby's Music Journey

Starting Bands and Touring

Brian Crosby helped start two famous Irish bands. First, he was a founding member of Juniper with Damien Rice. Later, he co-founded Bell X1 with Paul Noonan, Dominic Phillips, and David Geraghty. With Bell X1, he made four albums and traveled the world on tours from 1996 to 2008.

The Cake Sale Project

In 2006, Brian created and produced a special music project called The Cake Sale. This project brought together many well-known Irish musicians. Some of these included Glen Hansard, Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol, Lisa Hannigan, and Damien Rice. Other artists like Nina Persson from The Cardigans also joined.

The album sold very well in Ireland, reaching "double platinum" status. It was also released worldwide. One of its songs, 'Some Surprise,' was even featured in the TV show Grey's Anatomy. All the money made from The Cake Sale album goes to the charity Oxfam. So far, this project has raised over €300,000 for charity.

Music for Film and TV

Today, Brian Crosby mainly focuses on creating music for films. He is known for making memorable and emotional music for movies, documentaries, and art shows. He has also composed music for many international commercials. Brian is the founder of Caravan Music, a company that creates custom music for big brands around the world.

Brian was also a key helper for Starboard Home. This was a music project that was part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme. He studied at Trinity College Dublin. Since 2009, he has been on the board of directors for the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO). He is also the Chair of the new Screen Composers Guild of Ireland.

Brian runs his own music publishing company called Kick the Tyre. He lives with his wife and three children on the southeast coast of Ireland.
