Brian Anthony Ransom was a talented American football player. He was born on July 9, 1960. Brian played as a quarterback, which is a key position in football. He played college football at Tennessee State University. Later, he played professionally for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was also part of the Houston Oilers in the National Football League (NFL), but he didn't play in any games for them.

Brian played college football for the Tennessee State Tigers. He was a key player for four years, from 1979 to 1982. Being a "letterman" means he played well enough to earn a special award. In 1981, he was recognized as an All-American. This means he was one of the best college players in the country. Both the "Sheridan Poll" and The Sporting News named him an All-American.

Brian Ransom's Professional Football Journey

After college, Brian Ransom hoped to play in the NFL. He was not chosen in the 1983 NFL draft. This means no team picked him directly. However, he still got a chance to play.

Time with the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Oilers

On April 28, 1983, Brian signed with the Dallas Cowboys. This was a big step for him. But he was released from the team on August 29, 1983.

Later that year, on September 29, 1983, the Houston Oilers signed him. He stayed with the Oilers for a few years. He was released and then brought back to the team in 1985.
