Brian Rawlinson was an English actor and writer. He was born on November 12, 1931, in Stockport, Cheshire, England. He became well-known for his many roles in TV shows and films, starting in the 1950s.

He had a regular role as Robert Onedin in the BBC TV series The Onedin Line. He also played different characters in many other TV programmes. Some of these shows were Coronation Street, The Bill, and Heartbeat. His last acting role was as Cyril Gridley in Last of the Summer Wine. He also appeared in The Buccaneers, playing Gaff Guernsey.

Besides acting, Brian Rawlinson was also a writer. He wrote several plays. In the mid-1970s, he was involved in a BBC series called Churchill's People. This show was based on parts of Winston Churchill's book, A History of the English-Speaking Peoples.

Brian Rawlinson passed away on November 23, 2000, in Lyme Regis, Dorset, England. He was 69 years old.
