Brian Stacy Miller (born January 24, 1967) is a very important judge in the United States. He works as a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. This means he helps make big decisions in legal cases for the government.

Brian Miller's Early Life and Schooling
Brian Miller was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, in 1967. He grew up in Helena, Arkansas. After finishing high school in 1985, he joined the United States Navy.
From 1986 to 1989, he worked as a Boatswain's Mate on the USS New Jersey. This job meant he helped manage the ship and its equipment. He also served in the United States Navy Reserve for a few years.
College and Law School
After leaving active duty, he went to Phillips County Community College and earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1991. He then studied at the University of Central Arkansas, getting a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992. Finally, he went to Vanderbilt Law School and earned his law degree (called a Juris Doctor) in 1995.
Brian Miller's Career as a Lawyer and Judge
After finishing law school, Brian Miller started working at a law firm in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1995. A few years later, in 1998, he opened his own law firm in Helena.
Working for Cities and Counties
In 1998, he was elected to be the city attorney for his hometown of Helena. A city attorney is a lawyer who works for the city government. He helped with legal matters for Helena until 2006. He also served as city attorney for other towns like Lakeview and Edmondson, Arkansas. He was even a city judge for Holly Grove, Arkansas. From 2000 to 2006, he also worked as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Phillips County. This means he was a lawyer who helped the government bring cases against people accused of crimes.
Becoming a Judge
In 2007, the Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, appointed Brian Miller to the Arkansas Court of Appeals. This is a state court where people can ask for a review of earlier court decisions. He served there until 2008.
Federal Judicial Service
In 2007, President George W. Bush nominated Brian Miller to become a federal judge. The United States Senate approved his nomination in 2008. He officially became a judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas on April 17, 2008. From 2012 to 2019, he served as the Chief Judge of that court. The Chief Judge is like the main leader of the judges in that court.
Brian Miller's Family Life
Brian Miller is married and has children. He is a member of the Catholic faith. His family has a history of public service. His great-grandparents, Abraham Hugo Miller and Eliza Ann Ross Miller, were important figures in Arkansas history. His father, Robert Dan Miller Jr., was also a politician and a doctor in Arkansas.
