What Was Bridgeport, Utah?

Bridgeport was a small settlement that grew up around a ranching area. It had a store, a saloon, and a post office. These buildings were located on the north side of the Green River. This was near the entrance of Jesse Ewing Canyon. It was also close to the western end of a place called Browns Park.

Who Started Bridgeport?

A pioneer named Charley Crouse helped develop and run Bridgeport. He was one of the first people to settle in Browns Park. There was also another store about two miles upstream. This second store was run by John Jarvie.
