Bridgeport is a town in Crawford County, Wisconsin, United States. It is a small community. In the year 2000, about 946 people lived there. There is also a smaller, unincorporated community called Bridgeport located within the town.

Bridgeport covers an area of about 23.3 square miles (60.4 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 20.3 square miles (52.7 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 3.0 square miles (7.7 square kilometers), is water. This means that rivers or lakes make up about 13% of the town's total area.

In 2000, there were 946 people living in Bridgeport. These people lived in 346 different homes. About 265 of these homes were families. On average, there were about 46.5 people living in each square mile of the town.

Famous Old Bridge
The Bridgeport Bridge was a very long bridge in Bridgeport. It was special because of its design and how long it was. This bridge carried U.S. Highway 18 over the Wisconsin River. It had nine sections over the main river and another section over a smaller water channel and an island.
In 1983, it was one of only five bridges in Wisconsin built using a special design called a Pennsylvania Truss. However, by 1993, this bridge and most of the others like it were taken down.
