Bridget Jane Fonda (born January 27, 1964) is a former American actress. She is known for her roles in many movies from the 1990s and early 2000s. Some of her famous films include Single White Female, Singles, Point of No Return, and Jackie Brown.

Bridget comes from a very famous acting family. Her father was actor Peter Fonda, her aunt is Jane Fonda, and her grandfather was the legendary actor Henry Fonda. She stopped acting in 2002 and is married to composer Danny Elfman. They have one son together.

Early Life and Family

Bridget Fonda was born in Los Angeles, California, on January 27, 1964. She grew up in a family deeply involved in movies and acting. Her grandfather, Henry Fonda, was a very famous actor. Her father, Peter Fonda, and her aunt, Jane Fonda, are also well-known actors.

Bridget's mother, Susan Jane Brewer, is an artist. Bridget was named after Bridget Hayward, who was the daughter of actress Margaret Sullavan. When Bridget was ten years old, her parents divorced. Her father later married Portia Rebecca Crockett. Bridget and her brother, Justin, were raised by Portia in Los Angeles and Montana.

Becoming an Actress

Bridget first got interested in acting when she was in a school play called Harvey. She loved it! She then went on to study acting at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She learned a special way of acting called "method acting" and graduated in 1986.

Her very first movie appearance was when she was just five years old. She was in the movie Easy Rider (1969), which starred her father, Peter Fonda. She played a child in a hippie community. Her first speaking role in a movie was in 1988.

Breakthrough Roles

Bridget's career really took off in 1990 with her role in The Godfather Part III. This movie helped her become more widely known. After that, she starred in several popular films. In 1992, she played the main character in the thriller Single White Female. She also appeared in the comedy Singles that same year.

In 1993, Bridget starred in Point of No Return. This was an American version of a French movie called Nikita. Critics praised her strong and confident performance in the film.

Later Career and Retirement

Bridget continued to act in many different types of movies. In 1994, she starred with Nicolas Cage in the romantic comedy It Could Happen to You. She also lent her voice to the animated film Balto in 1995. In 1997, she worked with famous director Quentin Tarantino in the movie Jackie Brown. She also appeared in A Simple Plan (1998) and Lake Placid (1999).

Bridget was nominated for several awards during her career. She received a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Scandal in 1989. She also earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her work in TV movies like In the Gloaming (1997) and No Ordinary Baby (2001).

Her last movie role was in The Whole Shebang in 2001. Her final acting role was in the TV movie Snow Queen in 2002. After this, Bridget decided to stop acting. She has not appeared in any films or TV shows since then.

Personal Life

Bridget Fonda married film composer Danny Elfman in November 2003. Danny Elfman is well-known for creating music for many movies and TV shows. They had a son together in 2005.

In February 2003, Bridget was in a car accident that caused a back injury. After getting married and starting her family, she chose to step away from acting. She decided to focus on her family life instead.
