Brionne Butler's Early Life
Brionne Butler was born in Louisiana. She grew up in Kendleton, Texas. Her parents are Brian Butler and Javonne Brooks. Brionne's mom was also a great volleyball player! She played for the University of New Orleans. Her mom is known for having one of the most career kills in college volleyball history.
Brionne went to Boling High School. She was considered one of the top volleyball players in the country for her age group. After her second year of high school, she decided to play for the University of Texas at Austin. While in high school, she was already playing for the Junior USA national team.
Brionne's Volleyball Career
Playing in College
Brionne started her college volleyball journey in 2017. She didn't play in her first year, which is called "redshirting." After that, she became a starting middle blocker for the Texas Longhorns team. She played for three more years.
In her final year, 2020, she was named a First Team All-American. This means she was one of the best college players in the nation! She also led all college players in total blocks that year. Brionne helped her team reach the national championship game in 2020. She was even named to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team. Her team also won the Big 12 Conference title every year she was there.
Professional Teams Around the World
After college, Brionne started playing volleyball professionally. She has played for different clubs in various countries:
- In 2021 and 2022, she played for Gresik Petrokimia in Indonesia.
- From 2022 to 2023, she played for Chieri in Italy.
- Since 2023, she has been playing for Osasco in Brazil.
Playing for Team USA
Even while she was still in college, Brionne started playing for the U.S. National Team.
- In 2019, she made her debut at the Pan-American Cup. Her team won the gold medal!
- In May 2022, Brionne was chosen to be on the team for the FIVB Volleyball Nations League tournament.
