Brittney Leigh Lower, born on August 2, 1985, is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in several TV shows. These include the crime drama Unforgettable (from 2011 to 2014) and the romantic comedy Man Seeking Woman (from 2015 to 2017). More recently, she starred in the science fiction series Severance (starting in 2022). For her work in Severance, she received an Emmy Award in 2025 for being an outstanding lead actress in a drama series.

Britt Lower's Early Life and School Days
Brittney Leigh Lower was born in Bloomington, Illinois. Her parents are Mickey and Steve Lower. She grew up in Heyworth, Illinois, and finished Heyworth High School. Her mother was a teacher and also ran a fun face painting business called "the Zoo Lady." This business was very popular in their area.
Britt sometimes helped her mom with face painting. She said this is where she first met circus performers. She was fascinated by people who traveled and performed, like tightrope walkers and jugglers. Britt has an older brother named Brugh.
After high school, where she was the top student in 2004, Britt went to Northwestern University. She earned a degree in Communication in 2008. She also trained in improv comedy with groups like the Upright Citizens Brigade and ImprovOlympic.
Britt Lower's Acting Career
Britt Lower started her acting career with different roles. In 2011, she played Tanya Sitkowsky, a technology expert, in the TV series Unforgettable. This was a role that appeared many times.
In 2015, she became widely known for her role as Liz Greenberg in the comedy series Man Seeking Woman on FXX. The next year, in 2016, she also appeared in the Hulu series Casual as Sarah Finn. Britt also acted in the second season of American Horror Stories. She was the main character in the music video for the song "Wolf" by the band Yeah Yeah Yeahs. You might have also seen her in commercials for Verizon. She was also a guest on The George Lucas Talk Show.
Since 2022, Britt Lower has been starring as Helly R. in the Apple TV+ science fiction series Severance. This show is a psychological thriller. Her interest in the circus world, which started with her mother's face painting, led her to explore it further. She even wrote and directed a short film in 2020 called Circus Person. During a break from Severance, Britt spent a month performing in a Circus Flora show in St. Louis. She played a character in their show called Quest for the Innkeeper's Cask.
