Broad Run Reservoir facts for kids
Broad Run Reservoir, also called Fourth Hollow Reservoir, is a large reservoir located in the Broad Mountain area, near the town of Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania. It was built between 1970 and 1971.
About Broad Run Reservoir
This important reservoir can hold a huge amount of water, about 127 million US gallons (480,000 m3)! At its deepest spot, the reservoir is about 35 feet deep. It plays a big role by providing drinking water for the people living in Nesquehoning.
Where Does the Water Go?
When water is released from the Broad Run Reservoir, it flows into the nearby Nesquehoning Creek. This creek is part of the larger water system in the area.
