Brookford is a small town in Catawba County, North Carolina, United States. In 2020, about 442 people lived there. It's part of a larger area that includes the cities of Hickory, Lenoir, and Morganton.

Brookford became an official town on March 1, 1907. It started as a "mill village." This means it was a community built around a textile mill, where many people worked. The town's name, Brookford, comes from combining the names of two owners: Holbrook and Shuford. The town has about 4.56 miles of roads.

Where is Brookford Located?

Brookford is in the western part of Catawba County. The City of Hickory is just north of it. To the southwest, you'll find the community of Mountain View.

The town is close to where two major highways, Interstate 40 and U.S. Route 321, meet south of Hickory. Since these highways don't have direct exits into Brookford, the easiest way to get there is from Exit 42 on US 321. This exit connects to North Carolina Highway 127, also known as Brookford Boulevard, which goes right through the middle of the town.

Brookford sits on hills next to the Henry Fork River. This river flows into the South Fork Catawba River. The town covers about 1.6 square kilometers (or 0.6 square miles). A small part of this area, about 3%, is water.
