The South Fork Catawba River is about 48.5 miles long. It flows through several towns. These towns include Lincolnton and McAdenville. You can also find it near Cramerton.

The South Fork River begins when two smaller rivers meet. These are the Henry Fork and the Jacob Fork. This meeting point is south of Hickory, North Carolina. It's near where US Highway 321 and North Carolina Highway 10 cross.

The river flows until it reaches Lake Wylie. Lake Wylie is a large lake on the border of North and South Carolina. Here, the South Fork River joins the larger Catawba River.
