Where Does Jacob Fork Start and End?
Jacob Fork begins high up near the top of Grassy Ridge. This area is in Burke County, North Carolina. It starts close to where another stream, He Creek, begins.
From there, Jacob Fork flows towards the east. It travels into Catawba County, North Carolina. Eventually, it meets up with another river called Henry Fork. When these two rivers join, they form the larger South Fork Catawba River. This meeting point is about 3 miles southwest of a town called Startown.

A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into a single river, lake, or ocean. The Jacob Fork watershed covers about 96 square miles (249 square kilometers).
This area gets a lot of rain each year, about 51 inches (130 centimeters). A big part of the watershed, about 64%, is covered by forests. This means there are many trees and plants that help keep the river healthy.
