Bruno Barbieri (born 12 January 1962) is a famous Italian chef, restaurant owner, and TV star. He is known for his amazing cooking skills and for being a judge on popular TV shows like MasterChef Italia.
Bruno Barbieri's restaurants have earned 7 Michelin stars. This makes him one of the most recognized chefs in Italy and around the world. He has been a judge on MasterChef Italia and its special versions like Junior MasterChef Italia and MasterChef Italia Celebrity. He also created his own TV show called Bruno Barbieri - 4 hotel.
Early Life and Food Passion
Bruno Barbieri was born on January 12, 1962, in a town called Medicina in Italy. When he was seven, his father moved to Spain. Bruno's mother worked in fashion, but it was his grandmother who taught him to love food and cooking. He went to a special high school in Bologna to learn about hospitality and cooking.
Chef's Journey and TV Fame
After finishing school, Bruno took advanced cooking classes in other countries. He started working at a restaurant called Locanda Solarola. In just two years, this restaurant earned two Michelin stars, which are like big awards for restaurants. Later, he worked at Il Trigabolo with his friend and fellow chef, Igles Corelli.
In 2002, Bruno opened his own restaurant, Arquade, inside a hotel in San Pietro in Cariano. By 2006, Arquade also received two Michelin stars. These stars show that a restaurant offers excellent food. He left Arquade in 2010 and later opened Cotidie in London in 2012. In 2016, he opened Fourghetti in Bologna.
Bruno has also written cookbooks, including one about gluten-free cooking. He became very famous in Italy after joining MasterChef Italia in 2011. Since 2018, he has also hosted his own show, Bruno Barbieri - 4 hotel, where he visits and judges different hotels.
Life Outside the Kitchen
Bruno Barbieri is not married. He loves soccer and is a big fan of the Inter Milan team. He even played soccer when he was younger. Bruno has said that he dreams of cooking for Queen Elizabeth II and making a movie with actor Johnny Depp.
