Bruno Miguel Esteves do Vale, born on April 8, 1983, is a former professional football player from Portugal. He was a talented goalkeeper.

Bruno played most of his career in Cyprus for a team called Apollon Limassol. He started his football journey in Portugal, learning the game at Porto. He played over 300 matches for Apollon Limassol.

Bruno Vale's Football Journey

Bruno Vale was born in Mafamude, a town in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. He grew up playing football in the youth system of FC Porto, one of Portugal's biggest clubs.

Early Career and National Team Call-Up

In August 2003, Bruno got a big surprise! He was chosen to play for the Portuguese national team in a friendly match against Kazakhstan. He played for 22 minutes as a substitute in that game, which Portugal won 1–0. At that time, he was only the third-choice goalkeeper at his club, Porto.

The next year, in 2004, Bruno represented Portugal at the Summer Olympic Games. He was the backup goalkeeper to Benfica's José Moreira.

Loan Spells and World Cup Selection

For the 2005–06 season, Bruno was loaned to C.F. Estrela da Amadora, another team in Portugal's top league, the Primeira Liga. He was also selected for the 2006 FIFA World Cup squad. However, he got a foot injury during a game against Germany in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. This injury sadly forced him to leave the World Cup squad.

In the 2006–07 season, Bruno was loaned out again, this time to U.D. Leiria. He didn't play much there. The next year, in 2007–08, he moved to Varzim SC in the Segunda Liga, which is Portugal's second division.

Bruno continued to be loaned out. In July 2008, he spent the 2008–09 season at Vitória de Setúbal in the top league. The same thing happened the following summer. For the 2009–10 season, he was a backup goalkeeper for Belenenses, a team from Lisbon. An injury to another player, Nélson Pereira, helped Bruno become the starting goalkeeper. However, the club ended up getting relegated from the top league that season.

Moving to Cyprus and Retirement

In 2010, Bruno finally left Porto. He continued his career with U.D. Oliveirense in Portugal's second division. On June 26, 2012, when he was 29 years old, Bruno decided to play abroad for the first time. He signed a two-year contract with Apollon Limassol FC in the Cypriot First Division in Cyprus.

Bruno played for seven years with Apollon Limassol, becoming a key player for them. In June 2019, he returned to Portugal and Oliveirense, signing a one-year deal. On June 4, 2020, Bruno Vale announced that he was retiring from professional football.
