Bruthers of Different Muthers was a rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. They played a type of music called hard rock, which was inspired by grunge. They also mixed in sounds from First Nations music.

Their Journey and Success
In 2009, the band toured with famous singer Buffy Sainte-Marie. They played as her backing band. This means they played the music behind her singing. They helped her promote her album Running for the Drum.
Their first album was called Speakers of Tomorrow. They released it by themselves in 2011. This album won "Best Rock Album" at the 2011 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards. It was also nominated for "Aboriginal Album of the Year" at the Juno Awards of 2012. The band won two more Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards in 2012.
The Bruthers also performed at the Muddy Water Music Festival. They played there in 2012 and again in 2015.
What Happened Next?
After the band stopped playing together, the members went on to do other things. Michel Bruyere played drums on Buffy Sainte-Marie's 2017 album Power In The Blood. Donovan Bruyere started a new band called Rescued by Dragonflyz. Leroy Constant became the Chief of Manitoba's York Factory First Nation.
