Bryan McBride, born on December 10, 1991, in Long Beach, California, is an American athlete. He is best known for his amazing skills in the high jump, where he tries to jump over a high bar. Since 2016, Bryan has also coached other young athletes. He teaches them how to do the long jump, triple jump, and high jump at Cuyamaca College.
In 2017, Bryan became the National Champion in high jump! He jumped an incredible 2.30 m (7 ft 6.42618111 in), which was his personal best. After winning, he was so excited that he ran across the field. This moment was even shown on TV! He also placed second at the Indoor Championships in 2016.

Before becoming a professional, Bryan McBride was a star athlete at Arizona State University. He was the 2014 NCAA Outdoor High Jump Champion. The NCAA Championships are a very big deal for college athletes.

Bryan earned 8 All-America honors during his college career. This means he was recognized as one of the best college athletes in the country. He also won several championships:
- In 2015, he was the Pac-12 High Jump Champion.
- In 2015, he was the MPSF High Jump Champion.
- In 2015, he was also the MPSF Long Jump Champion.
Bryan set a new school record at Arizona State by jumping 2.30 m (7 ft 6.42618111 in). This broke a record that had stood for 38 years! He became the NCAA Champion in 2014.
Overcoming Challenges
In 2013, Bryan had a tough year. He couldn't compete because of a stress fracture in his left ankle. But he worked hard to recover and came back even stronger. Besides high jump, Bryan is also good at the long jump. He once jumped 7.79 m (25 ft 6.56791339 in) indoors while at Arizona State.
High School Athletics
Before college, Bryan McBride went to Sandra Day O'Connor High School. There, he was already a very talented high jumper, clearing 2.14 m (7 ft 0.12696851 in).
Bryan won two state titles in high school:
- In 2010, he won the Arizona Interscholastic Association High Jump 5A Division 2 state title. He jumped 2.085 m (6 ft 9.96161418 in).

Bryan grew up in Peoria, Arizona. When he was younger, he also played as an Outfielder in baseball.
