Bryant Creek State Park is a brand new state park in Missouri. It was announced in 2016 as one of three new parks for the state. This park covers a large area of about 2,917 acres.
You can find Bryant Creek State Park in south-central Douglas County. It's located along a beautiful waterway called Bryant Creek. The park is about 22 miles southeast of a town named Ava. This whole area is part of a famous region called the Ozarks in southern Missouri.
Exploring Bryant Creek State Park
This park is still being developed, so it's not open to visitors yet. But when it opens, it will be a wonderful place to explore nature!
What Makes the Park Special?
The park includes about two miles of Bryant Creek itself. The creek here has a "meandering channel," which means it twists and turns like a snake. Along the creek, you'll see impressive bluffs. These are tall, steep cliffs made of rock like dolomite and sandstone.
The land around the creek is covered with forests. You'll find many oak and pine trees growing there. This mix of trees and the creek creates a beautiful natural habitat.
