Bryce Benno Rohde (born September 12, 1923 – died January 26, 2016) was a talented Australian jazz pianist and composer. He was known for his unique musical ideas, which were inspired by another composer named George Russell.

Early Life
Bryce Rohde was born in Hobart, a city in Tasmania, Australia. He began playing jazz music in Adelaide early in his career. In 1953, he moved to Canada.
Career
In 1954, Bryce Rohde teamed up with two other Australian musicians who were also living abroad, plus an American musician. Together, they formed a jazz group called the Australian Jazz Quartet. This group recorded several albums and traveled a lot, performing across the United States. After touring Australia in 1958, the group decided to break up.
After that, Bryce Rohde led his own jazz quartets in Australia until 1964. In 1965, he moved to California in the United States. He then lived in San Francisco and continued to lead his own music groups. He worked with many Australian musicians, including Bruce Cale and Charlie Munro.
Death
Bryce Rohde passed away on January 26, 2016.
