The Buehler Planetarium and Observatory is a fun place to learn about space! It's a special theater with a huge, round ceiling that's 40 feet wide. This ceiling acts like a screen. It uses a cool Definiti fulldome video system to show you amazing things. You can see stars, planets, and galaxies all around you.
This planetarium is located at the Broward College campus in Davie, Florida. It's the only public planetarium in Broward County.
What Can You Do There?
You can watch exciting shows about space on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. It costs $4 to get in during the week. On weekends, it's $6. If you are a Broward College student, you can get in for free with your student ID.
After the shows, you can also look through telescopes! The observatory patio has 20 telescopes. They are free to use. You can look through them from 8 PM to 10 PM on show nights.
Renovation Update
Right now, the planetarium is getting some updates. Because of this, telescope viewing nights are only on Wednesdays. You can still use the telescopes from 7 PM to 10 PM on those nights.
A Look at History
The Buehler Planetarium opened its doors in 1965. It was built thanks to a generous gift. The money came from the Emil Buehler Trust.
