What Happens in Bunnytown?
The show is made up of about ten to twelve short parts. Each part is different and funny. Here are some of the main types of segments you would see:
Funny Characters and Stories
- The Ski Race: This is a silly race shown in four parts. The bunnies get ready to ski. But first, they might do ballet, then sleep, then fly! Finally, they race. The funny part is a rubber band at the finish line. It makes them fly right back to the start!
- Red and Fred: These two are a silent comedy team. They are known as "Two Best Friends" in the US. They are like old-time comedians who use funny actions instead of words. They often get into silly situations and fall down.
- The Adventures of Super-Bunny: This part is about a hero bunny. A "Little Bad Bunny" often tries to steal carrots from Bunnytown. But Super-Bunny always comes to save the day!
- The Bunnytown Hop: This is a musical segment. A rock-and-roll band performs a fun song. They are inspired by famous groups like Earth, Wind & Fire.
- Super Silly Sports: This segment makes fun of sports shows. It's hosted by Pinky Pinkerton. She wears a pink Alice band and a matching scarf. One funny "sport" was a staring contest. It was between a boy and an Idaho potato! Pinky's favorite saying is "Oh me, oh my!"
The Closing Song
After all the funny segments, all the bunnies gather together. They sing the closing song. It's called "It's A Bunnytown Life."
Where to See Them Now
Some parts of Bunnytown are still shown today. You can see segments like "Two Best Friends" (Red and Fred) and "Super Silly Sports." They appear as short clips on Disney Junior and Disney Junior Night Light.
Meet the Puppets and Characters
The bunnies in the show are special puppets. They are called rod puppets. It takes up to eight people to make one bunny move! They use a trigger to move the mouths. Invisible strings from above make other parts move. The puppets are made from soft foam rubber. Then they are covered in fake fur.
Who Lives in Bunnytown?
The characters in Bunnytown are very diverse. They are like characters you might find in storybooks.
- There's a king and his court. They seem to be the leaders of Bunnytown. They live in a castle.
- You'll also see pirates and a superhero bunny.
- One female bunny is an astronaut.
- There are two cave bunnies and their pet dinosaur.
- Other characters include an inventor, a farmer, and many more!
