Buried Country is a special project that includes a film, a book, a music album, and even a live stage show. It all started in 2000. This project, created by Clinton Walker, tells the amazing story of Australian country music through the eyes of Aboriginal artists. It focuses on the most important and talented stars in this music style.

What is Buried Country?
Buried Country is more than just one thing. It's a way to learn about the history of Aboriginal country music.
The Book
The book is called Buried Country: The Story of Aboriginal Country Music. Clinton Walker wrote it, and it came out in 2000. It shares the stories of many important musicians.
The Film
There is also a documentary film made by Film Australia. Andy Nehl directed the film. Clinton Walker wrote the story for it. The famous musician Kev Carmody narrated, or told, the story in the film.
The Music Album
A special music album was also released. It's a two-CD set called Buried Country: Original Film Soundtrack. Clinton Walker produced this album. It has 45 classic and rare songs. These songs are from the artists featured in the book and film.
The Stage Show
Buried Country also became a live stage show. It started in August 2016 in Newcastle, New South Wales. The show featured older, experienced singers. It also included younger, new singers and songwriters. The show toured different festivals until 2018. Many of the original artists took turns performing. They were backed up by a band called The Backtrackers.
