How Did Burnt Woods Get Its Name?
The community got its name a long time ago. In 1919, a post office was opened there. The people in charge chose the name "Burnt Woods" from a list. This name was picked because there were clear signs of past forest fires in the area. These fires had burned parts of the woods, leaving a lasting mark. The post office served the community for many years. It finally closed its doors in 1978.

There is also a café where people can eat and relax. The café first opened in 1925 and has had different owners over the years.
