History of Burr
Burr was first planned out in the 1880s. This happened when the railroad tracks were built to reach that area. The village got its name from the many burr oak trees that grew nearby.

- Dean Steinkuhler is a well-known person from Burr. He was a football player. He played as an offensive lineman for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and later for the Houston Oilers. In 1983, he won two important awards: the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award.
