Byron Pedley (1844-1910) was an English comedian from the Victorian era. He was born in Chorlton-on-Medlock, a town near Manchester.

Pedley had a long and successful career performing in Music Halls. He also appeared in many pantomimes and plays. People who watched him said he was very energetic, funny, and unique.

His Famous Roles

One of Pedley's most famous roles was Mr. Dennis Muldoon in a show called Muldoon’s Picnic. He played this character many times over 30 years.

In 1901, he joined a theater company with G.M Polini and Austen Melford. He starred in a play called The Silver King, where he played Detective Samuel Baxter. Pedley was in this play for six years, traveling to many big theaters and opera houses. People loved his performance.

Later Life and Family

Byron Pedley was married twice. His first wife, Mary Ann Barber, passed away when he was 32 years old. In 1879, he married Elizabeth Groves, who was also an actress from the famous Groves theatrical family. He was a father to five children.

In 1910, after being unwell with heart problems, Pedley became very sick and needed to go to a special hospital for care. He passed away a few weeks later, on July 4, 1910, at the age of 62.
