Byron Stingily is an American R&B and house music singer. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. Byron is known for his special high-pitched voice, called a falsetto. Today, he works part-time as a principal at a school in Chicago. He also still performs his music.
Music Career
Byron Stingily had many popular songs in the 1980s and 1990s. He was the lead singer of a group called Ten City. As a solo artist, he became very successful on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. This chart lists the most popular songs in dance clubs. He reached the number one spot three times!
In 1997, his song "Get Up (Everybody)" was number one for a week. For this song, he used a part of another song, "Dance (Disco Heat)" by Sylvester. In 1998, he hit number one again. This time it was with his version of Sylvester's song "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)". Damien Mendis and Stuart Bradbury produced this hit song.
His song "That's the Way Love Is" was a number one dance hit in 1989 with Ten City. In 1999, Byron recorded it again on his own. It became a number one hit for him once more. Some of his newer songs have been released by Defected Records. This record label is based in the UK.
In 2021, Byron worked with producer Marshall Jefferson. They released "Be Free." This was the first song in 25 years to be released by Stingily's house music group, Ten City.

Family Life
Byron Stingily is a father. His daughter, Diamond Stingily, is a visual artist and poet. His son, Byron, is a professional athlete. He played offensive tackle in the NFL for five years. He finished his career with the New York Giants in 2016.
