CAE Phoenix is a special school where people learn to become pilots. It's located in Mesa, Arizona, at Falcon Field Airport. This school is owned by a big company called CAE. Many airlines send their future pilots here for training. Some of these airlines include British Airways, Southwest Airlines, Japan Airlines, American Airlines, and Emirates.
How It Started
In 1991, the Belgian government worked with an aviation school. This school was first called the Belgian Aviation School. Later, it became the Sabena Air Training Center.
That same year, they decided to do the flight training in Phoenix. Phoenix is in Arizona, and the weather there is usually sunny. This means students can fly planes all year long. The area also has busy air traffic, which helps students learn in real-world conditions.
In 2008, a company called CAE bought the Phoenix school. That's why it's now known as CAE Phoenix.
What Planes Do They Use?
CAE Phoenix has a large collection of 81 airplanes for training. Most of these planes have a modern navigation system called Garmin G1000. This system helps pilots fly safely and efficiently.

Pilot Training Programs
In 2011, about 400 new pilots were trained at the school each year. CAE Phoenix offers different courses for pilots. These courses follow rules from either Europe (EASA) or America (FAA).
- European Courses: Students from European schools like Oxford and Brussels come here. They train for airlines such as British Airways, Air Algérie, and Emirates.
- American Courses: Students in these programs learn to get US pilot licenses. They can earn licenses like the Private pilot, Commercial pilot, and flight instructor licenses. Airlines like Shenzhen Airlines and IndiGo send their future pilots for these courses.
The school also has a special program called the Multi Crew Pilots License (MPL). This program is currently used by Japan Airlines to train their pilots.
In February 2017, CAE was recognized as the best Aviation Training Center in Europe. This shows how good their training programs are.
