CAE Inc. is a Canadian company that makes amazing simulation technology. They create special training tools and services for airlines, airplane makers, and even defense groups. CAE started way back in 1947. Today, they have factories and training centers in 35 different countries around the world.

Flight Simulators: Learning to Fly Safely
CAE sells flight simulators and other training devices. These are used by airlines, companies that build airplanes, and special training schools. They also license their simulation software to different groups. CAE even has a team that offers professional services.
Types of Simulators
CAE makes different kinds of simulators. Some are basic training tools like the CAE 400XR and CAE 500XR. They also build advanced, full-motion simulators. These include the CAE 3000, CAE 5000, and CAE 7000XR. All these simulators are available for companies to use. In 2016, CAE sold 53 of their Full-Flight Simulators.
Growing the Simulator Business
In 2001, CAE Inc. bought the Flight Simulation and Training part of BAE Systems. This division used to be called Reflectone Inc. Reflectone started in 1939 and was based in Tampa, Florida. They sold flight simulators to the military and trained pilots.
In 2021, CAE announced another big purchase. They bought the Military Training businesses from L3Harris Technologies. This included Link Simulation & Training. This company's history goes back to the very first flight simulators. These were designed and built by a person named Ed Link.
Pilot Training: Becoming an Expert Pilot
CAE also trains pilots for airlines and private jets. They have over 50 aviation training centers globally.
Training in the United States
In the United States, CAE trains pilots for airlines like JetBlue. They also train pilots for other companies. These include charter services and cargo airlines. In December 2001, CAE bought Simuflite training centers. These were in Dallas, Texas, and Morristown, New Jersey. They are now called CAE SimuFlite. The center near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is huge. It's the largest business aviation training center in the world. It has 34 simulators and about 450 employees.
In February 2016, CAE Inc. bought a company that used to be a competitor. This was Lockheed Martin Commercial Flight Training. It was previously known as Sim-Industries.
Global Flight Academies
CAE also runs the CAE Oxford Aviation Academy. This is the largest network for ab initio flight training. Ab initio means training from the very beginning. They have over 220 aircraft and seven campuses worldwide. CAE also operates CAE Global Academy Phoenix and Sabena Flight Academy in Belgium.
Since February 2020, CAE has also worked with Airways Aviation Academy. This academy was formerly known as ESMA. It is located in Montpellier, in the South of France. They train students from Oxford and Brussels.
Healthcare Training: Helping Medical Professionals
In 2011, CAE bought Medical Education Technologies Inc. (METI). This company, based in Sarasota, was known for its patient simulator called the HPS. In October 2023, CAE shared news about selling its Healthcare business. It was sold to Madison Industries, a company in Chicago. The sale was for about C$311 million.

Current Leadership
Marc Parent was the CEO of CAE for many years. He started in October 2009. He has over 25 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Marc was born in Montreal. He studied Mechanical Engineering at Montreal's École Polytechnique. He also attended a special program at Harvard Business School. Matthew Bromberg is scheduled to become the new President and Chief Executive Officer on August 13, 2025.
In October 2008, CAE was recognized as one of "Canada's Top 100 Employers." This was by Mediacorp Canada Inc. The company was also featured in Maclean's newsmagazine.
