What the Cabinet Does
How the Cabinet Works
The Cabinet of Pakistan is like a team that helps the Prime Minister make big decisions for the country. They meet every week in Islamabad to discuss important matters. Each minister is in charge of a specific area, like education, health, or finance.
The Cabinet Secretary of Pakistan is the main manager for the Cabinet's daily work. This person reports directly to the Prime Minister.
Rules for the Cabinet
The rules for the Cabinet are written in the Constitution of Pakistan. This is the main law book of the country. According to the Constitution, the Prime Minister can choose or remove members of the Cabinet. However, any changes must be made in writing. Also, new ministers must be approved by the Parliament. This ensures that the process is fair and open.
History of the Cabinet
When the Cabinet Started
The idea of a Cabinet in Pakistan began right after the country was formed. The first Prime Minister, Liaqat Ali Khan, set up the first Cabinet. He chose important civil servants and statesmen to be part of this first group of ministers. This happened on August 14, 1947, when Pakistan became an independent nation.
Recent Cabinet Changes
The Cabinet changes when a new Prime Minister takes office. For example, on April 10, 2022, Shehbaz Sharif became the Prime Minister. He then formed his own group of ministers, known as the Shehbaz Sharif ministry. This new Cabinet started working to serve the people of Pakistan.
