Cabo Engaño facts for kids
Cabo Engaño is a special piece of land that sticks out into the ocean, also known as a cape. It is located near Punta de Agua, which is the easternmost point of the large island of Hispaniola. This cape is found in the Dominican Republic. The area around Cabo Engaño is quite dry, and you can often see cacti growing there.
Christopher Columbus first saw this cape on January 16, 1493. He gave it the name Cape Sant Theramo, or sometimes it was called Cape San Telmo.
Just south of Cabo Engaño is the Punta Cana International Airport. This airport is one of the busiest in the entire country, bringing many visitors to the Dominican Republic.
