Cabudare (pronounced ka-boo-DAH-reh) is a lively city in Lara State, Venezuela. Its original name was Kabudari. It is the capital of the Palavecino Municipality. The city is located about 400 meters (1,300 feet) above sea level. It sits near the Turbio River. Cabudare is also found along a major highway called the Autopista Centro Occidental. This road connects it to other important places.
Cabudare has grown a lot over the years. Many people have moved here because of the economic growth in nearby Barquisimeto. Barquisimeto is the capital city of Lara State. Because of this, Cabudare has become a "bedroom community." This means many people live in Cabudare but travel to Barquisimeto for work or school. New homes are being built where sugar cane fields once were. However, some people in the municipality still work in farming.
