Cachí is a lovely district located in the Paraíso area. It's part of the Cartago province in Costa Rica. Think of a district as a smaller part of a bigger region.

About Cachí's Location
Cachí is a district that covers about 41 square kilometers. It sits high up, about 1049 meters (or 3,441 feet) above sea level. This means it's quite elevated!
The district is found near the eastern side of Lake Cachí. This lake isn't natural; people created it by building a dam across the Reventazon River. Before the 1970s, the river flowed right past the town. Cachí is also connected to another town called Ujarrás, which is on the other side of the lake.

Interesting Places in Cachí
Cachí is known for its beautiful green coffee plantations. You might also spot an old sugar mill from the early 1900s.
One special place is a wooden house built by Macedonio Quesada. He was a famous wood carver and sculptor from Costa Rica. He called his house Casa del Soñador, which means "Dreamer's House." What makes it unique is that it's made entirely from coffee branches and bamboo!
If you're looking for a place to eat, La Casona del Cafetal Restaurant is a well-known spot. There's also an Evangelical Church called Espiritu de Vida in town.
Cachí is made up of several smaller areas or neighborhoods. These include Calle Boza, Pueblo Nuevo, Loaisa, Peñas Blancas, Primavera, and Volio. For students, there are three elementary schools and one high school in the district.
