Cadbury Mr. Big facts for kids
Mr. Big is a super long chocolate bar made by Cadbury in Canada. It's called "Mr. Big" because it's the biggest chocolate bar they make!
This yummy bar has layers of vanilla wafer inside. It's also covered in sweet caramel, crunchy peanuts, and crispy rice. All of this is wrapped up in a tasty chocolate coating. The Mr. Big bar is about 20 centimeters (8 inches) long. That's like two regular-sized chocolate bars put together!
You can also find other kinds of Mr. Big bars. These include Mr. Chew Big, Mr. Big Fudge, and even one with Maple flavor.
Where You Can Find Mr. Big
Mr. Big chocolate bars are very popular in Canada. You can also find them in countries like Hungary and Poland. Some parts of the United States sell them too.
Back in the 1970s, a TV ad campaign for Mr. Big in Canada had a catchy slogan. It said, "Mr. Big: so big they call him Mister." When the bar launched in the U.S. in 1995, famous basketball player Shaquille O'Neal helped advertise it.
Around Halloween, you might find smaller versions of the Mr. Big chocolate bar. These mini bars are perfect for trick-or-treaters!
Who Owns the Mr. Big Name?
The name "Mr. Big" for candy was first owned by a company called Nestlé. Another company, William Neilson (which is now part of Cadbury), used the name under a special agreement.
This meant that one of Neilson's most popular candy names was owned by its biggest rival! So, Neilson decided to buy the rights to the "Mr. Big" name for all candy products. Now, Cadbury fully owns the name for this famous chocolate bar.
Mr. Big Ice Cream
For a while, Mr. Big was the only Cadbury chocolate bar that also came as an ice cream treat. Nestlé made this ice cream version.
In the UK, the Mr. Big ice cream was stopped in May 2002 because not many people were buying it. However, in Canada, you can still find an ice cream bar version of Mr. Big made by Nestlé. Other Cadbury ice cream products used to be made by a company called Breyers.
