Cadillac Muzik is an American music group from San Antonio, Texas. They play a mix of funk and alternative hip hop music. The group is made up of two artists from San Antonio: Beseja B. "CaddyMack" Moses and Scott Anthony "DaddyDvil" Campbell.

They are known for making their own music, performing live shows, and writing songs. Cadillac Muzik was inspired by Moses' uncle, Jimmy Sampson. He was a member of a famous band called Ohio Players.

Moses and Campbell grew up in San Antonio. They started rapping with family members in a group called THK in 2003. By 2010, they found their unique "Southern Soul" sound. The San Antonio Express-News newspaper has called Cadillac Muzik one of San Antonio's most important Black artists.

Music Journey

Early Releases (2014–2017)

In 2014, Cadillac Muzik released their album called FunkyLand. Two years later, in 2016, they released a song called Vibration. In 2017, they put out another song, Mind Play.

Mind Play became quite popular. It reached #8 on the European Indie Top 200 Charts. It also made it to #40 on the DRT National Airplay Top 150 chart. Cadillac Muzik was also featured in San Antonio Current Magazine and on Texas Public Radio.

Chart Success (2018–2020)

After a short break, Cadillac Muzik released Lac Gospel in 2018. This album appeared on the Billboard R&B Album Sales chart. The next year, they released Groove Nation. This EP (which is like a mini-album) also appeared on several Billboard Magazine charts. It was on the Heatseekers and Independent Albums charts.

Lac Gospel reached #12 on the Billboard R&B Album Sales Charts. In 2019, Groove Nation hit #10 for R&B Album Sales. It also reached #22 for Heatseekers Albums and #45 for Independent Albums Sales.

In 2020, the band released two more projects: Playa Innovators and a single called Cerebral Celebration. For these songs, they were inspired by groups like UGK, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, and Parliament Funkadelic. They ended 2020 with a single called "Gamble Love." This song reached #86 on the Cashbox Top 200 Airplay Charts. It also hit #5 on the Cashbox Top 150 Independent Airplay Charts.

New Music (2021)

In 2021, Cadillac Muzik released their fifth independent project, "Stayin Alive." The magazine The Source said its sound was like 90s artists such as D’Angelo and CeeLo Green.

In May 2021, Cadillac Muzik's "Lac Gospel" album was listed by the San Antonio Current. It was named one of 20 important albums recorded in San Antonio. On May 14, 2021, they released their EP "O.G. Style." This project was a tribute to their late uncle, Charles “Black Beamus” Williams. In July 2021, they released "SpaceCowboy." This song was a collaboration with another artist, MoonShyne Brown.

Recent Work (2023)

In 2023, Beseja “CaddyMack” Moses released “El Dorado Sky.” This was the first new song from the band since "SpaceCowboy." On February 22nd, Cadillac Muzik also released "Brain UnChain" with Garrett "StarchildJr" Shider.

Working with Other Artists

In 2023, Beseja “CaddyMack” Moses from Cadillac Muzik teamed up with Garrett “Starchild Jr” Shider. Garrett is the son of Garry Shider, who was a lead guitarist for Parliament-Funkadelic. Moses' uncle was also a drummer for Ohio Players.

These two artists, with their strong family connections to funk music, combined their styles. They mixed funk with modern alternative R&B to create the song "Brain UnChain."
