Cadott is a small village located in Chippewa County, in the state of Wisconsin, United States. In 2020, about 1,498 people lived there. It's a friendly community with an interesting past and a unique location.

History of Cadott Village
Cadott has a long history, starting even before it became a village.
Early Trading Post Days
In the late 1700s or early 1800s, a man named Jean Baptiste Cadotte set up a trading post. His father, Michel Cadotte, was a fur trader from the Madeline Island area. This trading post was on the Yellow River, close to where Cadott is today.
Founding the Village
The village we know now was started in 1865 by Robert Marriner. He built a dam and a sawmill on the river. He also planned out the town's streets and buildings. Marriner decided to name the new settlement "Cadotte Falls" to honor the earlier trading post.
Recent Events: 2020 Tornado
On July 21, 2020, a tornado touched down on the north side of the village. It caused some damage to buildings. Luckily, no one was hurt during the storm.
Geography and Location
Cadott is found at 44°56′55″N 91°9′5″W / 44.94861°N 91.15139°W. It covers an area of about 3.38 square miles (8.75 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
Equidistant from Equator and North Pole
One cool fact about Cadott is its special location. It is exactly halfway between the Equator and the North Pole! This makes it a unique spot on Earth. You can even see billboards on Highway 27 that invite tourists to take pictures by signs marking this unusual fact.

High School Athletics
Cadott High School is well-known for its wrestling program. The wrestling team has had many state champions over the years. They even won the Division 3 state championship in 2007. They were also state runner-up in 2005.
Music Festivals: Rock Fest and Country Fest
Since 1987, Cadott has been home to two big annual music festivals. These are Country Fest and Rock Fest.
About the Festivals
The concert and camping areas for these festivals are located about eight miles outside the village. Both events bring in music fans from all over the country. They feature some of the biggest singers and bands in country and rock music. These festivals are very important for the local economy. They bring many visitors and boost businesses in the area.
