How They Started
The stepbrothers, René and Eduardo, were first discovered by Elias De Leon. They got a record deal with White Lion Records. This happened after they left a demo with Carlos “Karly” Rosario, who worked for the record company.
Their first big moment came with the song "Querido FBI". This song made them well-known in Puerto Rico. In 2005, Calle 13 released their first album, also called Calle 13. It became very popular with songs like "Se Vale Tó-Tó" and "¡Atrévete-te-te!".

Their third album, Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo, came out in 2008. It won Album of the Year at the 2009 Latin Grammy Awards. Calle 13 then released Entren Los Que Quieran in November 2010. Their most recent album, Multi Viral, was released on March 1, 2014.
Their Unique Music Style
Calle 13 is famous for its special and varied music style. They often use unusual instruments in their songs. This makes their music sound very different from typical reggaeton.
The band is also known for its clever and sometimes funny lyrics. They often sing about social issues and culture in Latin America. The stepbrothers also strongly support their home, Puerto Rico. They believe Puerto Rico should be independent.
