Calum Ray Paul Davenport (born on January 1, 1983) is an English former professional footballer. He currently plays for Tavistock in the Southern League Division One South. Calum played as a defender for several clubs during his career. These include Coventry City, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, and others.

Calum Davenport's Football Journey
Playing for Coventry City
Calum Davenport started his football journey at Coventry City. He joined their youth team in August 2000. His first game was in the final match of the 2000–01 season. That year, Coventry City was moved down from the Premier League.
Calum became a regular player in the 2002–03 season. He was even named Young Player of the Year. The next season, 2003–04, he won the Player of the Year award. He played 84 games for Coventry City and scored three goals.
Time at Tottenham Hotspur
In August 2004, Calum moved to Tottenham Hotspur. He was bought for £1.3 million. While at Tottenham, he also played on loan for other teams. These teams included West Ham, Southampton, and Norwich City.
He made his first Premier League appearance for Tottenham in April 2006. This was in a game against Manchester United. Calum scored his first goal for Tottenham in December 2006. It was the first goal in a 2–1 win against Manchester City. He played 20 games for Tottenham and scored one goal.
Moving to West Ham United
Calum Davenport joined West Ham United in January 2007. He signed a contract for three and a half years. He had played for West Ham before on loan.
In January 2008, he went on loan to Watford. He played one game for Watford but had to leave early due to an injury. This injury meant his loan deal was canceled.
After recovering, Calum returned to West Ham for the 2008–09 season. He played well and scored his first goal for West Ham in August 2008. In February 2009, he went on loan to Sunderland and played eight games.
Later in 2009, Calum faced a serious personal incident that affected his career. He did not play for West Ham again after this. In March 2010, his contract with West Ham ended. He had played 14 games for West Ham and scored one goal.
Brief Stays and New Beginnings
After leaving West Ham, Calum trained with Nottingham Forest and Leeds United. In September 2010, he signed with Wootton Blue Cross to get back into playing shape.
In July 2021, it was announced that Calum Davenport had signed for Tavistock. They play in the Western League Premier Division. Calum shared that his main goal was to get fit again and help the club achieve promotion.
Playing for England
Calum Davenport also represented his country. He played for the England national team at different youth levels. He played for the under-17, under-19, and under-21 teams.
Career Challenges
In August 2009, Calum Davenport suffered a very serious injury. He needed emergency surgery and lost a lot of blood. This injury was so severe that it put his football career at risk.
After leaving the hospital, he slowly started light training again. However, because of the injury, his contract with West Ham was ended in March 2010. This was a very difficult time for his professional career.
Life After Professional Football
In 2019, Calum Davenport started coaching football for children in Plymouth. This shows his continued passion for the sport and helping young players.
