Calum Graham is a talented Canadian musician. He plays the guitar using a special style called fingerstyle. This means he uses his fingers to pluck the strings in a unique way, often making the guitar sound like a whole band! He also sings and writes his own songs. Calum has released several albums and is known around the world for his amazing guitar skills. When he was 22, a magazine called Acoustic Guitar listed him as one of the top 30 guitarists under 30.

Calum Graham's Musical Path

His Early Musical Journey

Calum Graham started playing guitar when he was just 12 years old. He learned from his dad sometimes. After finishing high school, Calum studied classical guitar at the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University.

One day, during an electric guitar lesson, he heard an album called "Bearing Straight" by a fingerstyle guitarist named Don Ross. This music really inspired him! From then on, he started learning more about the fingerstyle guitar style on his own.

Awards and Achievements

Calum quickly became very good at playing the guitar. In 2009, he won the Calgary Stampede Talent Search. This led him to win a national talent contest too!

He also did very well in guitar competitions. In 2009, he came second in the fingerstyle guitar contest at the Canadian Guitar Festival. The next year, in 2010, he won first place!

In 2011, Calum won a special song contest called "A Song For Canada." This contest was part of Canada's Walk of Fame. He won a cash prize and time in a recording studio.
