Calvin Lawrence Booth (born May 7, 1976) is an American basketball expert. He used to be a professional basketball player. Today, he is the general manager for the Denver Nuggets, a famous basketball team.

College Basketball Star
Calvin Booth went to Penn State University. Before that, he was a star player at Groveport Madison High School in Ohio. In college, he was known for his strong defense. As a junior, he was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. This award goes to the best defensive player in his college league.
In his senior year, he was chosen for the second-team All-Big Ten Conference. This means he was one of the top players in his league. He earned his college degree from Penn State in 1998.
Playing in the NBA
Calvin Booth was picked by the Washington Wizards in the 1999 NBA draft. He was the 35th player chosen overall. He played for many different teams during his career. These teams included the Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, Seattle SuperSonics, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Sacramento Kings.
He played for the Washington Wizards a second time during the 2006–07 season. He would often come off the bench to play. Sometimes, he even started games.
One amazing moment happened on January 13, 2004. While playing for the Supersonics, Booth blocked 10 shots in just 17 minutes! This is a very rare and impressive achievement in basketball.
Another big moment was in the 2001 NBA playoffs. Booth was playing for the Dallas Mavericks against the Utah Jazz. With only 9.8 seconds left in the game, he made a layup. This shot gave Dallas an 84–83 lead. It helped his team win the series 3–2. This was the Mavericks' first playoff series win since 1988.
Working in the Front Office
After his playing career, Calvin Booth started working behind the scenes in basketball. He began as a scout for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2012. A scout finds new talented players for the team.
After one year, he moved to the Minnesota Timberwolves. There, he worked his way up to director of player personnel. This role involves managing the team's players and helping with trades.
On August 16, 2017, Booth became the assistant general manager for the Denver Nuggets. Then, on July 7, 2020, he was named the general manager. As general manager, he makes big decisions about the team. He helps choose players and coaches.
In 2023, Booth achieved a huge success. The Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship! They beat the Miami Heat in five games. This was his first championship as an executive.
