Calvin Garrett had an exciting journey in basketball, playing both in college and in the NBA.
College Basketball Days
Calvin played college basketball at two different schools. He started at Austin Peay University from 1975 to 1977. Later, he moved to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He played there from 1978 to 1980.
A Top College Player
During his time at Oral Roberts, Calvin was a very good player. In 1980, he was named the Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Year. This award goes to the best player in that college basketball league.
Joining the NBA
After his successful college career, Calvin Garrett was chosen in the 1979 NBA Draft. The Chicago Bulls picked him in the third round. He was the 47th player chosen overall that year.
Playing for the Houston Rockets
Calvin started his NBA career with the Houston Rockets. He played for the Rockets for three seasons, from 1980 to 1983.
Time with the Los Angeles Lakers
After his time with the Rockets, Calvin Garrett played one season for the Los Angeles Lakers. He was part of the Lakers team during the 1983–84 NBA season.
Other Teams
