Cam Plante (born March 12, 1964) is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. He played as a defenceman, which is a player who helps protect their team's goal. Cam was chosen by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He played two games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Maple Leafs during the 1984–85 season.

Cam Plante's Hockey Journey
Setting a WHL Record
Cam Plante holds a special record in the Western Hockey League (WHL). He scored more points than any other defenceman in a single season. This happened when he played for the Brandon Wheat Kings in the 1983–84 WHL season. In 72 games that year, he scored 22 goals and made 118 assists, adding up to an amazing 140 points!
Playing Around the World
After playing in North America, Cam Plante spent four seasons playing hockey in the United Kingdom. He played most of that time with the Peterborough Pirates. He also had short periods with other teams like the Chelmsford Chieftains and the Humberside Hawks. He finished his playing career back in North America with the Wichita Thunder in the Central Hockey League (CHL).
A Hockey Family
Cam Plante's love for hockey has been passed down to his sons. His son, Tyler Plante, was a prospect for the Florida Panthers. Another son, Alex Plante, was a prospect for the Edmonton Oilers. Both of his sons also became professional hockey players.
